Dry and fine with sunny spells across the North West today
After a fresh start with early mist and fog quickly clearing, today brings a largely dry and fine day across the North West with good sunny spells and just patchy cloud. Only the far north of Cumbria carries a very slight chance of an isolated shower — most places stay completely dry.
Temperatures reach around 19C to 21C inland, a little cooler on the coast. Winds stay light, generally westerly, with gusts mostly 8mph to 13mph and a touch stronger on exposed coasts.
Tonight remains dry with lengthy clear skies. A few mist and fog patches will re-form, and it turns quite chilly for late August, with rural spots dipping to around 8C.
