NW England Weather Forecast: Friday, February 20th 2026
The west returns. Turning milder but remaining unsettled!!!
It’s a cloudy and wet start, with rain — heavy at times over the hills — clearing eastwards through the morning. Behind it, blustery showers move in, sometimes merging into longer spells of rain. Some downpours could be heavy with hail and even the odd rumble of thunder. It’s noticeably milder than recent days though, with highs around 12°C.
Tonight sees heavy showers easing for a time, giving a brief dry spell early on, before more rain arrives during the early hours. It’ll be a mild night, with temperatures holding near 8°C.
Saturday keeps the unsettled theme going, with outbreaks of rain turning heavy at times during the afternoon. There will be some drier interludes mixed in, and it stays mild but breezy, with highs near 13°C.
Looking ahead to Sunday through Tuesday, the changeable pattern continues — spells of rain and showers mixed with occasional drier breaks. Skies will often be cloudy, winds sometimes strong, and temperatures staying very mild for the time of year.
